Kids 'N Canines


Is there anything more special than the relationship between a child and a dog? We have several opportunities for kids 'n canines to grow even closer this summer.
Designed specifically for 7 to 13 year old children, this class is taught by FDTC staff with years of experience teaching obedience, fitting and showing to 4-H kids. Children will learn how to teach their dogs basic obedience commands, including sit, down, stay, come and walking nicely on leash, plus some easy, fun tricks. The class will also learn about grooming, nutrition and appropriate ways to play and exercise their family pets. 

The goal for participants in this class is to develop a good relationship with, and gain greater control and respect over their dogs while having fun in a small, group environment. Children must be at least 7 years of age, with appropriate learning and listening skills, and must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Kids 'N Canines Designed specifically for kids and their dogs, these classes are intended to give children an introduction to proper dog handling in a fun, positive environment.  Classes cover a little bit of everything.  Various classes and workshops are offered for different age groups.   Click here for more info & schedule of upcoming classes.
Field Trips & Special Interest Family Dog is always happy to develop classes for specific interest groups.  If your scout troop, 4-H group or daughter's birthday party would like a program tailored just for them, we can do it!   We have experience creating all kinds of one-time, short and long-term workshops, classes & seminars.  Contact us for more information.
Private Lessons The Family Dog staff is always available for private lessons to help with specific issues, such as housebreaking, behavior problems, etc.  Contact us for more information.
